Full Fiberglass Panel Replacement in Fountain Valley, California
What this work involves
There is a crossover point where re-bonding stops making sense. Once more than roughly sixty percent of a panel has failed, or once the luan substrate has gone soft, replacing the panel costs less and lasts longer than chasing the repair.
How we approach it
- Framing is rebuilt at the same time rather than reskinned over
- Replacement panels fabricated in house when the original is discontinued
- Insulation and vapour management restored, not just the skin
What sends people here
- Substrate soft across a majority of the panel
- Multiple previous delamination repairs that keep failing
- Structural framing rotted behind the skin
- Cap damage beyond economical repair
Questions
Questions about full fiberglass panel replacement
When is panel replacement better than delamination repair?
When the substrate is wet or rotted, when more than about sixty percent of the panel has debonded, or when the wall has already been repaired twice. At that point replacement is cheaper over the life of the coach.
Can you make a panel for a discontinued coach?
Yes. We pull a mould or fabricate flat laminate to the original schedule. It costs more than an available factory panel but it is usually the only route on a coach more than fifteen years old.
